Rebecca Rippon creates themes and images in her artwork that celebrate the natural world. She works across mediums, in printmaking, drawing, painting, digital illustrations and pattern designs.

This illustration features the indigo plant, and accompanies the educational reader Rippon wrote about natural pigments for art history website Sartle. Read it here: https://www.sartle.com/blog/post/art-history-reader-plant-pigments

The image is the indigofera tinctoria plant, also called “true indigo” in the flowering stage, the leaf shapes filled with indigo dyed fabric.
